Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} 200 B 402 Cgh.{W Clough}3/W.27.11.37. Bentley III Chassis. Rear Axle Hypoid Bevel Gears. Further to Cgh.{W Clough}11/W.22.11.37 in connection with the three sets of 10 x 43 ratio hypoid bevel gears which we have requested the Gleason Works to supply, a cable was sent to them asking if they could leave the shank of the pinion so that it could be ground 35 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} diameter and 2" longer, but they have replied that the gears are being cut, consequently it is too late for this alteration to be introduced on these three pairs.
