laboratory on 31st July
This was nearly white in tint - consisted of a fine light powder.
Analysis -
Silica 0.85 %
Carbonaceous matter .12 % (traces)
Alumina 82.0 %
Copper Oxide 3.8 %
Zinc Oxide 13.1 %
Iron 0.32 %

This is higher in copper + zinc than carburettor body alum alloy - It appears that this alloy is unstable on the surface
