Material specifications and modification of water hose connections for all Wraith cars.

Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.2/AP.22.2.38 12-80 chas 640 WATER HOSE CONNECTIONS - WRAITH - ALL CARS. Further to the agreement that the hose connection in future of all cars shall be made in hose lined with S.1633 K.{Mr Kilner} rubber (red) internally and Y.S.13 rubber (black) externally, the question of using up connections already made in all red rubber S.1633 K.{Mr Kilner} has been looked into. The Leyland & Birmingham Rubber Co. have submitted samples of this hose which have been given a coating of black rubber externally in order to comply with our colour requirements. These samples appear to satisfy all our requirements and we agree that existing stock shall be modified in this manner so as to avoid scrap - will Royl please instruct accordingly. With regard to the Wraith bottom water connection to EW.1633, this has been modified in accordance with latest scheme and can now be released.
