To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler} c. Rb{R. Bowen}/CA. 1110 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler}4/MH.{M. Huckerby}15.11.37. 10" and 11" CLUTCH PLATES. We have conflicting information re the price of the above plates. Borg & Beck have told us in a letter that - The 10" Thermoid plate would be 1/- more than Standard. " 11" " " " 3/- " " " Mr. Armitage recently confirmed this to me per 'phone. On the other hand Rb{R. Bowen}/CA tells me the prices are - 10" Rabestos 16/10 10" Thermoid 14/6 = 2/4 less. 11" Rabestos 19/4 11" Thermoid 21/- = 1/8 more. It is necessary to take into consideration that there would be a considerable difference in cost between the Woven Asbestos originally fitted to the 10" and the Die Pressed material fitted to the 11", also that the price of 14/10 for the 10" Thermoid was a special quotation for 18 experimental plate of three different types. Would you kindly take the matter up with makers, and let us know what prices are actually prevailing for production. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler} | ||
