Mr Royce has written in response to a note I sent to W.W. suggesting that we should maintain the present Hand Brake intact, agreeing to the proposal. It appears that BJ. has also written pointing out that it had certain weak points in relation to the law, and therefore Mr Royce has finally decided to leave the Back Axle entirely alone. This means that the Hand Brake with all its mechanism, including the Equalising Gear for same and inner Drum and mechanism on the Back Axle will remain intact as at present.

Mr Day has sent along a new scheme for the Bell Crank Lever, doing away with the original one as a certain amount of work called for on the original parts is unnecessary.

I have informed the Works by telephone, asking them to see that none of the Back Axles are dismantled in accordance with our original instructions.
