B-10-DG - MR. THOMPSON.

We have now heard from BY/Cgh{W Clough} concerning the wheel clearances to suit -

i. the road springs with one inch more initial camber;

ii. six inch tyres.

As you know, in connection with Item 1., it was proposed to modify the wings so as to conceal the excessive clearance above the tyres, but it turns out that if the 6 inch tyres are subsequently to be fitted then the wings had better be left in their original condition and not modified.

Will Mr. Thompson accept delivery of the car with the standard wings, in spite of the fact that the special springs will mean there will be more clearance above the tyres and, consequently, the standard wings are going to look a little odd.

If he has the wings modified to disguise the greater clearance above the tyres, it means that if later on he fits 6 inch tyres when the wheels will have to be altered back to the standard.
