Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 4304 To L, from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Wop.Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} I.C.2.Cr.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} re P.III. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}6/E21.11.35 Referring to the new body for SpectreCodename for Phantom III I, i.e. the all-steel body, confirming my conversation yesterday, as I understand that in any case the frame of SpectreCodename for Phantom III I will have to be scrapped because it is out of date, I should like to see this chassis re-built with an 8" longer wheelbase, i.e. bringing us back to the wheelbase of the P.II but with the body dimensions the same as for the present large-bodied P.III. I think that later/we may find it beneficial to make this the standard/P.III and have the present wheelbase for the Continental/model, but in any case it will be a useful and valuable test to see what improvement is effected in the ride and whatvis the advantage from the point of view of handling in London traffic.
