BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} V3465 ROY{Sir Henry Royce}2/MG2.2.25 Steering Wheels - BY2/H2.2.25 Our difficulty with the Silvertown covered Steering Wheel lies not in the production of the centre itself, but in getting a sound rim. In the Dover Wheel the rim is formed from Steel tube and the centre itself is merely a "spider", so I cannot quite understand your statement that casting difficulties are common to both types. Our difficulties in the production of the centre only, i.e. "Spider" are now overcome, and for some time past the Dover Wheel has been coming through most satisfactorily. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
