- 2 - SYMMETRY OF PARTS. Mr. Royce has made certain changes in the S.S. cylinder head and blocks, etc. to make it possible to produce a left hand car with the use of nearly all important parts identical with English parts. Mr. Royce has also, we understand, laid down the principle that S.S. parts shall be so far as possible symmetrical so that they may be available for left handing without change. SIMILAR TREATMENT OF INDIA III. It appears most desirable at this time to ask Mr. Royce whether he will not apply the same principle and make similar changes in the design of the India III, so that this car also will be available in left hand steering with minimum expense and delay. We think that this matter will almost certainly be receiving attention at West WitteringHenry Royce's home town already, but it seems desirable to place ourselves on record as favoring:- (1) The "mirror reflexion" principle of left-handing. (2) The production of symmetrical parts wherever possible so that left handing can be done with minimum change to English standard parts. (3) The application of these principles to the S.S., the India III, and all future chassis developments. OY. Maurice Olley r/ | ||
