RE. CONTROLLOR FOR DYNAMO OUPUT ON BENTLEY.

We have fitted the new control on Chassis B-9-GW Proffesor Dodd, which I obtained from you and find the increase in the charging rate is approx. 2 amps. This is certainly an improvement and will help to keep the battery in a better state of charge, as we are now just about balanced when Head, Side and Tail lamps are on.

We feel that the new control will not cure the discharged battery trouble completely, especially in the London district as the road speed on top gear, at which the dynamo cuts in, is so high. This we checked carefully and find it is 17 m.p.h with either the old or new type control fitted. We feel that if something could be done to reduce the dynamo cutting in speed and so reach the maximum dynamo output at a lower road speed, this along with the new control would go a long way towards meeting the conditions which obtain in London district at the present time. the
