SPLIT PINS [Handwritten addition: 'in'] GUDGEON PIN SET SCREWS. [Handwritten] X636 [crossed out] X685

We are always in more or less trouble with these split pins breaking off and dropping into the crankcase.
We do not consider the split pin [Handwritten correction: 'is' replaces typed 'in'] the proper lock to use in such a position.
With the tremendous number of reversals, one cannot anticipate a loose split pin having a very long life.

We should be pleased to have any suggestions for doing away with these split pins.
