x 6003 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.24/KW. 16th October, 1936. Messrs. S. Smith & Son Ltd., Cricklewood Works, London, N.W.2. For the attention of Mr. Dorer. Dear Sirs, We have recently tested an experimental thermometer which you sent us some time ago: it was fitted with particularly thin flexible capillary tubing which was wire-wound for protection. This thermometer fulfills the purpose for which we required it; i.e., it records the cylinder head water temperature without transmitting any appreciable valve spring noise. We should like to know whether you consider this type of capillary connection a production proposition, and if so, what it will add to the price of the combined thermometer and oil pressure gauge which you at present sell us. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
