| 323 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.31.10.36. c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} re Phantom III Exhaust System. We have obtained figures for the saving to be achieved in material costs by using nickel plated mild steel sheet instead of staybrite sheet for the exhaust lagging covers on the above chassis. The saving amounts to £.1.16.0 per chassis - no tool costs are involved. We have recently standardized this on the Bentley chassis as the result of 15,000 miles tests, and it is now being tried out for standardization on 35-EX. Owing to the fact that Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} is about to order material for "C" series, we recommend that we should take advantage of this saving immediately. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} are in agreement, and a standardisation sheet will be circulated forthwith. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
