Dear Sirs,
Attention of Mr.Robotham, Expl:Dept:.

Rolling Resistance of Tyres.

In reply to yours of the 30th., ult. we give you a chart showing how rolling resistance varies with temperature and with inflation pressure. We ought to mention that the tests were made on an obsolete type of tyre, and by means of rather insensitive machines. The absolute values are therefore not to be taken too literally, though the relative values are quite reliable.

We are having a machine specially constructed for this type of work, and shall be able to give you absolute values with a fair degree of accuracy.

On the questions of tread pattern, and size of tyre, we are making some tests on a rough temporary machine, and will report again in a few days.

We acknowledge receipt of the six 33 x 5 tyres with various tread design, etc.

Yours faithfully,

AHealey.
