To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. V7791 EFC3/T11.10.28. Herewith we hand to you a contact breaker from EW5 magneto No.100081. The contacts of this contact breaker have burnt down after running only 3900 miles on one of our expl. cars. It appears to me that there is something wrong with the springing and movement of the lever which would account for the faulty operation. There have been one or two other cases on the new EW6 magnetos in which the life of the points has not been all that is desired. We do not know so far of any complaints from production, but we have sufficient experience of this to make it advisable to acquaint Messrs. North of the matter. We should like to have their remarks.
