We still continue to receive complaints of ignition failures, which are reported as due to the burning of the make and break points. Every attention has been given to these complaints to see that the condenser is of the latest type and is properly fixed. We are sending you herewith sample of the contacts taken off car No.GAK-29, which has only run about 3,000 miles since the ignition was in every way modernised. Although we cannot agree that the ignition has definitely failed, the customer is anxious to point out to us the fault of the make and break points. We still feel that some further improvement is necessary, as there certainly seems to be a variation in the performance of these points on various cars. We again ask that serious consideration be given to the better earthing of the condenser and the complete advance mechanism. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
