COPY. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to PN.{Mr Northey} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} X7280 re Spring Control for Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}12/E15.10.31. 25 HP. Starter Carburetter. I am in receipt of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.14.10.31. X.5280 I quite appreciate the point you mention, i.e. X.7280. that some one would have to hold the starter carburetter lever whilst another person turned the engine whenever it was necessary to turn the engine by hand. I have discussed the matter with PN{Mr Northey} and we have come to the conclusion that this disadvantage is outweighed by the advantages of the spring control. As soon as we have got the standardisation sheet through for this modification on the 20/25 I think that we must consider the same for the 40/50, although here it may be a little more difficult because on N.2. series the starter carburetter lever also controls the extra oil, but I do not suppose that this will prove an insurmountable difficulty.
