1038 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/TAC.14/JH. 7th. January, 1939. Messrs. S. Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON.N.W.2. For the attention of Mr. F.J. Grosé. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 5th. instant in which you quote for the Automatic Jet Control to Code No. X.29963. We have actually been using the special smaller thermostat unit which you supplied. This was built into a 'mock-up' system, but we now feel that sufficient work has been done to design a scheme which could be used in production. This would necessitate designing an induction pipe, into the water hot spot of which could be fitted a thermostat unit. We would be very grateful if you could spare the time to come down to Derby to see just how the problem lies, and advise us on the best means of utilizing the space available. Mr. Robotham has stated that he would like to see you when you come, and that he would be free on Wednesday or Thursday of next week (Jan. 11, 12). if either of those dates are convenient to you at such short notice. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
