J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. TYPE DAMPERS - MODIFICATIONS TO LEVER IN ROCKING SHAFT.

R.{Sir Henry Royce} has instructed two schemes for trial as shewn by N. sch. 3657. herewith, to prevent movement of the inner lever in the rocking shaft.

The screw thread, if properly clear on the top and bottom diameters, should double the torque capacity of the lever.

The serrated scheme has flatter serrations than usual with the idea that the lever can move round if necessary to get even bedding on all serrations.

With both schemes the increased dimensions of the lever boss and nut shewn on the drawing should be used.

The outer lever is now to be sold with the shaft as required by the spring loaded gland which has been approved by R.{Sir Henry Royce}
