Silver Ripple.

Below we give a list of the amount of material that will be required to produce five Silver Ripple Frames. The material we suggest should be used, is R.R. Specification S/MD/239.A. which is BSS. S.3.

The following sheets will be required:-

10 sheets 15' x 6' x 16 SWG. (.064)
3 sheets 8' x 6' x 16 SWG. (.064)
5 sheets 4' x 4' x 12 SWG. (.104)

4 lbs.

The total weight of material will be 1 ton. 7 cwts. 2 qrs.

I see in memo. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/A.12.1.44. that Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} suggests that we should order enough sheets to produce 10 bodies. The body material was incidentally called for in Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/RG.{Mr Rowledge}5/GAB.10.1.44. The reason I have suggested only ordering five frames in .064 gauge material is because the frame from back of dash to rear is the same dimension as the standard B.5. which is .104 thick, and for this reason alone we may find it necessary to increase the gauge on the Silver Ripple frames to more than .064. Will Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} please give a ruling on this matter before you finally order the material.

Below we give the amount of sheets that are required to make each individual pressing on the frame, for record purposes.

1 sheet 15' x 2'8" - makes 1 side channel (R.H.)
1 sheet 15' x 2'8" - makes 1 side channel (L.H.)
1 sheet 15' x 2'8" - makes (1 cruciform (R.H.) and (1 longitudinal gusset (R.H.)
1 sheet 15' x 2'8" - makes (1 cruciform (L.H.) and (1 longitudinal gusset (L.H.)
1 sheet 8' x 2'8" - makes 2nd. Crossmember, all laterall gussets and Rear Crossmember.
1 sheet 4' x 4' (.104) makes Complete Front Pan.
