COPY. THE ZENITH CARBURETTER CO LTD., 40-44, NEWMAN STREET, LONDON, W.1. 27th November, 1935. W.A. Robotham Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Mr. Robotham, With further reference to my letter of yesterday, I have now been able to get some tentative prices for the Twin Stromberg Carburetter, but as mentioned in my letter of yesterday, it is very difficult to give an exact quotation until we have your final specification, as you will probably require a certain number of modifications. I have based these prices on 500 carburetters and arranged the tools spread over this quantity. For a carburetter made entirely in America, but re-set and tested in this country by ourselves, the price would be £7. 0. 0d. For a carburetter made partially in this country with diecastings from America, the price would be : £7. 15. 0. and for one that was made entirely over here, the price would be £8. 10. 6d. I hope these figures will give you the necessary data to work upon and, naturally, I could guarantee a first-class job, as the carburetter would not be made on ordinary production lines but produced with the best possible inspection and finish that would be worthy of being fitted to a Rolls-Royce Engine. Hoping that we shall be favoured with your contract in due course, I remain, Yours very truly, THE ZENITH CARBURETTER CO. (Sgd.) T.L. Turner, Gen. Manager. TLT/MB. | ||
