STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS.
Description of Parts. ORIGINAL
Two extra rings fitted to the pistons. The top one not to have a stop.
Drawing No. 3751A.
Origin. To overcome the formation of carbon deposit on the cylinder bore which is the cause of piston rattles. (See attached memo).
Experimental Test Report.
Run 53 hours on the test bench, rings and pistons in excellent condition.
Road Test Report.
Run 2,800 miles on 49GB. Pistons examined, rings and pistons found in excellent condition. Tests proceeding.
