re- Bentley Headlamps.

Kindly note it has now been decided to standardise the Lucas P.100 headlamps on all Bentley cars in future, and the changeover will be effected as soon as we are able to complete negotiations with Lucas for them to accept back from us the balance of the order for the present type lamps and supply us with P.100's instead.

No doubt ROY{Sir Henry Royce} will immediately get in touch with Lucas! in order to bring about this changeover.

We should be very pleased to hear from W. as to when Bentley chassis will come through with P.100 headlamps instead of the present standard, for record purposes.

In the meantime whilst we are compelled to use the present standard lamp will W. kindly send all lamps through with 60 watt bulbs.

In pursuance of the point I raised at the meeting which I had with W of and other officials at the Works on the 18th, might I suggest that the question of shortening the headlamp brackets as much as these new lamps will permit should be effected, so as to expose more the shoulders of the radiator, which we think will improve the appearance of the car from a distance. Also, possibly in view of the extra weight of the P.100 lamps this would be a desirable modification to the brackets.

We suggest that this changeover should be effected at the earliest possible moment.
