WRAITH III - A.C. BYE-PASS FILTER AND MODIFIED CORE COVERS FOR CYLINDER BLOCK.

Please receive herewith E.CD.80 A.C. Bye-Pass Filter.

Will you please detail and instruct the parts to be fitted as soon as possible.

(Due to modifications to crankcase stud bosses now being schemed, the filter may have to be carried higher. A scheme will be sent, if necessary.)

The additional bosses have already been added to the crankcase in accordance with the advanced print of this design sent to you at an earlier date. The oil supply to filter is being taken from the high pressure supply at the relief valve, and the remainder of the high pressure pipe will be shown on the revised design for relief valves which is in hand. The oil is being returned to engine via the rocker oil supply, and we have shown a connection tapped into the cylinder block for this purpose.

The core doors on the side of the cylinder block are now shown on cylinder centre lines as requested by Foundry, and a cheapened design of core door without the stiffening spigot as requested by WS/TB/WAF.1/W.19.8.37 - Fig.3.

Now that the mechanical petrol pump has been deleted from engine we have been able to improve the appearance of the petrol drain pipes from carburetter and also the clip position. The water return pipe from hotspot is altered to clear the oil return connection from filter and the position of boss for pipe clip on cylinder is altered to suit.
