| x2 Re Foot-brake on Rear Axle and friction damped spring clutch coupling. Members of the 2.5.12. Tech.Committee TEB2/L2512. On the 16th of April Mr Platford wrote to Mr Johnson urging the matter of the removal of the foot-brake drum as being more satisfactory and more completely curing our retard and coronation rattles than the fitting of a lighter flywheel and friction damped spring clutch coupling. He pointed out that the removal of the foot-brake drum cured the axle and gear box vibrations which were not cured by the friction damped coupling. On the 17th of April Mr Johnson wrote to Mr Platford to the effect that he did not think the foot-brake should be applied to the rear axle until it had received a thorough road test, but that possibly the damped spring clutch coupling could be applied at once. | ||
