Thank you for your memo. The clip directly behind the downtake pipe is not secured by any rivets, and slips off very easily. When the lagging becomes burnt it frequently falls off. The scheme referred to was for a small lug to be welded on to the expansion box so that the clip cannot slide back off the lagging.

The box has received no maltreatment and we are running mileage on it.
