It was arranged that we should send to the Continent a car fitted with different radiator experiments in order to prove how far the modifications we have in hand will reduce over-heating. At the same time, it was thought that this car would be useful in running tests on the road springs. We have 98-NK, 40/50 HP, open touring car practically ready to send to France. It is fitted with the following experiments :- 1. Radiator with 22.25" matrix. The present standard matrix is 21.25". We can however add an extra 1" at the bottom of the radiator without any modifications necessary to the bonnet or dashboard. The present Fan will still cover the extra portion added. The radiator supports would be the present type 1" lower which have been used as standard in the past. This radiator represents what we could do immediately without any alteration to bodies or appearance. 2. Radiator with 23.75 matrix. We have prepared a radiator of this type! It is proposed that this could be carried on the car and comparative tests made with the 22.25" radiator. The extra 1.5" of this radiator can only be obtained by raising the top tank, bonnet and dashboard that amount. This size practically gives us a square matrix, and the maximum the Fan could :- | ||
