GRY{Shadwell Grylls}- 1015 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} - from RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}1/FH.28.8.37. RE. WHEEL DRIVER SERRATIONS. On comparing detail drawings of "Wraith" III. and Bentley 'M' Series Wheel Drivers (GB.2710 and GW.1577 respectively), we find that the external serrations which fit the Hub differ only by a matter of .015 in width of spline. In order that only one new Hub Broach may be necessary, will you please arrange to have the serrations made identical. In addition it would be advantageous if "Wraith" III half shaft serrations (which are common to 25/30 HP) could be incorporated in Bentley III design, as we could then use the existing 25/30 HP. broach for Bentley III Wheel Drivers. The position would then be as follows:- Common Hub serrations ( Bentley III. ( Bentley 2a. ( Bentley.'M'.Series. ( Wraith III. Common Axle Shaft serrations ( Bentley III. ( Wraith III. ( Present 25/30 HP. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/S.Bannister. SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} | ||
