Appended is a power curve comparing the
Downdraught and SU. carb. We think the power may be improved
when we get better distribution. In looking at these power
curves it must be remembered that they were taken on a 3/1
compn. ratio head with open exhausts.

At the moment we are concentrating on distribution
because we do not think it advisable to work on metering and
other characteristics until good distribution is obtained.

On this carburetter scheme there is no provision
for a hot spot or any form of induction heating. Even with
the best distribution we know we cannot operate satisfact-
orily without some form of hot spot. We should like a
scheme incorporating a hot spot similar to that used on the
twin carburetter.

We next propose to try out the reduced throttle
also look into the question of fitting up a temporary scheme
for the slot or weir type of induction manifold.
