My dear Robotham, I enclose for your learned inspection a rough draft to the paper on Cylinder Wear we discussed. At the moment it is more or less as dictated and will not be published in this form as a lot of the statements require modification in the light of further tests. The only possible interest to yourselves is that we can take a section of a cylinder of any material and compare its wear and corrosion resisting properties with other materials. You will see from the drawing, which is half scale, that bores less than 5" can be dealt with by making a smaller retaining ring and rotor and increasing the rotational speed to give the same rubbing velocity. I hope you are fit and in good golfing form, as I am getting into training for a meeting ! Yours sincerely, S. Elmore Wraith Loose Liner Drg P. III | ||
