346 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/HP.1.12.36. Conversion to Rubber between Rear Axle and Springs - Series A.{Mr Adams} P.III. Referring to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/R24.11.36, if it is desired to fit these rubbers to a Series A.P.III car, what will be required is a new pair of rear springs with .450 additional camber, following Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les' suggestion (2), the rubber pads and spring bolts being Series B.bits. The rear roll rod and rear shock damper connecting rods will pull their respective levers down .450". The geometry of the linkage is still good, and as the displacement of the damper piston is only .082 from its present position there is ample clearance in the damper body to deal with this.
