[REDACTED] c. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X2748 BY/Shn1/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}7.11.23. RE 40/50 HP CHASSIS - PISTONS, The standardisation sheet has been completed * for adopting the Springfield method of taper eccentric grinding on the piston skirts. We issued drawing E.23006 applying this grinding to our pistons, but from Mr Platford's memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/H.19.9.23, and Mr Swirt's memos Sft{Mr Swift}/AZM1/EMH.10.9.23 and Sft{Mr Swift}/AEM10/EMH.12.9.23 it would appear we have been running with closer fitting pistons. Will you please mark up the attached print with the actual dimensions of the latest piston grinding, and will Mr Platford please report his views on these pistons to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} If any 20 HP pistons have been ground to this method, we shall be pleased to receive particulars of same. BY/Shn. | ||
