Query regarding continuous versus intermittent oil supply to the crankshaft at high speeds.

One point we should like to query is, whether the two points at which the crankshaft is fed at either end are supplied continuously or whether they receive intermittent supplies of oil. We have found that when running at very high speeds it is essential to have a continuous groove feed to the crankshaft; otherwise the supply falls at maximum revs. As a matter of interest, we locate our rods in the piston where we have from .005 to .020" clearance. The big ends run with a sideways clearance of .040 to .050". We should be interested to know how you get on. We suspect the continuity of oil feed to be the trouble.
