Hall's Car.

Hall is very pleased with the work that has been done on his car.

The Hartfords have improved the road holding enormously, and increased power has put the speed up 9 m.p.h. The few points still requiring attention on the car are -

(1) Gearbox. You will recollect that there are parts going through for the properly designed high indirect gears. These do not entail external modification to the gearbox casting.

(2) We are rather apprehensive of the large diameter pipe in the exhaust system as it is made in a lighter gauge than our standard. This was the Order Office error as we ordered the heavier pipe. They are getting some more for us and we want to fit this.

(3) The steering wheel spoke is in such a position that it obscures the 4,500 mark on the rev. counter, which is exactly the point of the greatest importance. We therefore want to turn the wheel round slightly.

(4) Hall wants us to fix the loose hub of the spare wheel carrier on to the bracket so that he can get the wheel on and off rapidly.

(5) We have to replace the rear wings which were cut to the wrong length, the material will come up with the car.

Hall hopes to let us have the car before the end of the week.
