40 mm. Naval Gun - Type BD.{Mr Berend}
(Further to your memo Ve.10/CH.8.10.40)

We notified you about a week ago that the L.M.S. Railway had been told by the Admiralty that some sort of identificationplate was urgently required on pedestal mountings.

We have now been told by the L.M.S. that they have submitted a design of plate to the Admiralty, which they expect to be accepted.

In view of the fact that you also will be submitting a design of plate, we suggest you send this direct to the Admiralty, pointing out the relationship of the lions with those which appear on the gun name plate.
