Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x2924 Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}17/E5.7.34 - 1 - Notes of Meeting at Derby - 5th July 1934 Present: Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}✓ BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} C H A S S I S. BENTLEY. 10,000 Miles Test Car. 4-B-IV. It was stated that this car would be going to France at the end of this week or early next week and with the new strengthened front axle. This car is only clearing a few points for "G" Series chassis, the most important of which is automatic controls for hydraulic shock dampers, which are to come in at the 101st chassis of "G" Series. It has on it, however, several of the points which it is hoped to clear for "D" Series. As mentioned, however, in the former Minutes, there is a further Bentley 10,000 miles chassis coming along behind 4-B-IV with other items which were listed in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}18/KW.8.6.34. It was decided to order material for a further batch of 300 Bentley chassis, i.e. "D" Series, and the items which it is hoped to clear for "D" Series are given in EX/Cgh{W Clough}12/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 3.7.34 Supercharging the Bentley. The work in connection with fitting the Graham Paige supercharger to the Bentley is still progressing and will be carried out in conjunction with the four bearing crankshaft. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} is not proposing to go on with the design for a supercharger until the above tests have shown whether it is a practical proposition with a 6-cylinder engine. | ||
