BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3730 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG24.1.23. It has already been arranged that all blue prints issued for any experimental work whatsoever should bear no information as regards what chassis they are for. We will see that any coachbuilders drawings will be altered, if necessary on the 40/50 long chassis prints. The reason the sporting body has been instructed for the "Stork" is because R.{Sir Henry Royce} considers the present 40/50 is out-of-date. In any case, the body can easily be made suitable for the standard 40/50 long chassis. We anticipate the bodies made for the "Stork" and "Heron" will be suitable for the "Seagull". The body supports will be approximately the same. There may, however, be some difference in the up-sweep of the frame, but in any case, we should imagine the body could be altered. The covered body we require should be finished off in the standard way - it need not have such as accessories as blinds, toilet requisites etc. E.P. and myself are leaving for W.W today. I will deliver your message to Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} with regard to not telling the Coachbuilder anything about experimental work. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
