Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/ADL6.3.32 contd. -2- Only the evolution during the past two years of the Ferranti rectifier instrument has made this scheme practicable. At Rg{Mr Rowledge}'s request we havemade rough tests using an aero magneto as an alternator in conjunction with a 20 milliampere Ferranti instrument we have in the electrical laboratory and taking into consideration our crude apparatus we obtained very good results. To try the scheme effectively we should require a much smaller generator and an instrument taking much less current. If the scheme is considered practicable it might be patentable for aero engine use where simplicity, reliability and light weight are prime factors. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. We suggest this should be protected. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
