2. Unit No.3. Development tests on No. 5 bed. Obsolete type crankcase. Std. connecting rods, 2, 4, and 6 - Hoyts Z.S. W/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Std. connecting rods, 1, 3, and 5 - Std. R.R. W/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Std. W/M main bearings. Extra hole in crank journal. Rubber rings under top liner flanges. Camshaft Lco.5401 for non hydraulic valve gears. Nos. 1, 2, and 3 tappet blocks std. tappets. Nos. 4, 5, and 6 tappet blocks non plated, cloudburst hardened tappets. These were run in on Hi press oil. Continental 6.5:1 ratio cylinder heads Em.160 E.83447 strengthened KE.965 valves. E.83165 S/SLV inlet valves hollow stems. Std. double springs with hydraulic mechanism stopped off. Unit No.4. (30-EX) Strap type connecting rods with lead bronze bearings. White metal main bearings. Semi-split pistons (E.86672) - 1st. long liner unit. Crank with 2 added holes in main journals, making 3 in all Cylinder heads with double springs, but not latest slope for oil drain. Original 12 : 1 eccentric rocker ratio. 1.2 dia. drilled stem exhaust valves E.86239. Flywheel and clutch with stiffened driven plate. 4 R.R. carb. induction system. Crankcase is original and obsolete design. Small oil pump. Single plate clutch. N.Sch.4317 clutch with flywheel balance. Unit No. 6. Unit to be assembled for endurance with Halls metal bigend bearings. Obsolete type crankcase. Hykro crankshaft. AC.6 main bearings. Halls metal shells for forked rod .070 thick. Standard bearing valves machined to suit. Outside blade rod bearing W/M as std. Liners 1 and 2 - Brico. 3 and 4 - Std. Sheepbridge. 5 and 6 - R.R. cast iron. Continued | ||
