8154 To Hr. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} K.8/Hr.13.12.32. c. Mr. Hives. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ever re Peregrine Valves. Referring to your memo K.5/W.6.12.32, we have now gone back to the larger inlet valves as it is found there is no disadvantage when used with the fully turbulent head. With regard to the exhaust valves, we should like to modify the shape of these on the lines of the last design of Kestrel valve down at WW. whereby the undercut on the outside of the head is replaced by a semi-tulip form. This undercut necessitates another operation in forming the stem of the valve which tends to produce a change in section at a point where it is very undesirable. We attach herewith a print of LeC.3006 showing the proposed modification. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
