1245 W/P. Sr. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.22.5.39. Dear Sr., This meeting of ours on the 'Corniche' seems to be fated. I was very sorry to let you down again, but you will appreciate that unfortunate domestic affairs made it impossible for me to come over. I very much hope that Annec will be able to come over with you for Whitsuntide, because we have been looking forward so long to having her that if she does not materialise on this occasion we shall feel that she will never come. If, however, she does not feel well enough, it would be foolish for her to take the journey. Perhaps you will wire me one way or the other when you get this note. In any case, we shall expect you for Whitsuntide. The Works re-open on Wednesday morning, and Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} is coming to the Factory the following Monday, June 5th. I do not know whether you will be able to stay over this length of time, but probably you would like to hear his views on the 'Corniche' and know what is decided with regard to production. In a way, I do not suppose it matters much whether you are there at the time, because we can always pass on his views to you. | ||
