BAVOX TYRE PUMPS.

Sometime ago we received two Bavox Tyre Pumps from A.{Mr Adams} Picard Esq., 4, New Burlington Street. We understand they were sent to us at your suggestion because you wished to purchase a tyre pump for the Bond Street Garage.

We have tested the two pumps B-V-4 and B-V-5.
Below are the results :-

B.V.4. B.V.5.
Pressure .............. 90 lbs/sq.in. 130 lbs/sq.in.
Free air delivery ..... 3.39 cu.ft/min. 5.65 cu.ft/min.
Speed ................. 1250 r.p.m. 1000 r.p.m.
Power absorbed ........ 1.7 H.P. 2.3 H.P.

It would appear that the B.V.4. would suit your requirements.

We have returned the samples to the makers; no doubt you will communicate with them.

As regards a mechanical tyre pump for the car. We are of the opinion that the most suitable place to drive a tyre pump is to have one which can be connected to the engine in place of the starting handle. Although the jaws will tend to throw the pump out of gear, with sufficient spring pressure the jaws would drive the pump. The pump would be carried in the tool box in the ordinary way, or left in the garage and only connected up when required.
