To ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} WST x6.6 E.4/HP.26.1.35. c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Ox. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. By/RD. Currus Fog Lamps. We note that you are able to obtain supplies of the above in this Country. With regard to the question of certain users fitting these lamps in pairs on larger and faster cars, we can only assume at the moment that they are being used for pass lamps in this case. We do not propose to suggest that two should be fitted untilwe see more reason for doing so. The single lamp can be accommodated in between the two horns carried on the front crossmember in the case of Phantom 2, and Bentley, leaving room for the starter shaft to pass under the lamp. In the case of the 20/25 our standard is one horn fitted under the apron, but as customers frequently require two horns and pay for the extra one on the 20/25 this really lines up with the other two chassis. The fact that the Bentley is fitted with double dip and double twist headlamps disposes of the necessity for a pass lamp, and the driver can of course use the fog lamp at the same time if he likes. In the case of the P.2. and the 20/25, so far as we are aware these are generally similarly equipped with double dip and twist headlamps and hence again fall into line with the general scheme of lighting. In the meantime we are putting schemes in hand for the fog lamp mounting to suit each chassis. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
