From EFC to RHC on the subject of fan tests, detailing completed and remaining work on various fan models.

To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. X.1017. RE FAN TESTS. The following fan tests have now been completed:- Power to drive tests taken in our laboratory of:- (1) Standard 40/50 6-bladed fan. (2) Ditto, with three blades removed. Fan speed/thrust tests taken in the shop on:- (1) Standard 40/50 6-bladed fan. (2) Ditto, with three blades removed. (3) EAC. 4-bladed fan. (4) Hispano fan. (5) High speed fan - six blades. There therefore remain to be done on the thrust tests:- (6) High speed fan with three blades removed. (7) Goshawk fan. and on the power tests in our laboratory:- (3) EAC. 4-bladed fan. (4) Hispano fan. (5) High speed fan - six blades. (6) High speed fan with three blades removed. (7) Goshawk fan. At this point we shall be glad if you will have the Hispano fan removed and the high speed 40/50 fan with three blades removed replaced, and after my man informs you that the test on that arrangement is completed will you kindly have the Goshawk fan fitted. This will then complete the thrust tests to be made in the shop. Subsequently we shall ask you again to fit up so that we can take power tests of these other five fans, in here EFC. | ||
