1175. Rml/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 4th Oct. 1937. Leyland Motors Limited, Leyland, LANCS: For the attention of Mr. Pilkington. Dear Sirs, Thank you very much for the drawing of the exhaust manifold which you kindly sent me. I am despatching to you under separate cover a drawing of the servo spring which reduces our clutch pedal pressure appreciably, and which we have satisfactorily run through one of our endurance tests, and also one of our synchromesh cones showing the fine screw thread which we employ to facilitate bedding. I understood from Mr. Spurrier, Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner}, that you were proposing to die cast a crankcase. I should be very interested to have particulars of the webs employed on this crankcase to facilitate withdrawal of the die should it be possible for you to let me have this die. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
