Sr/VA4/ET.24.3.39 - 2 - I think that we should bear in mind the accident which happened to B.S.MR, when the front axle and steering column received a hard shock. As you are aware, we had to fit a new front axle, etc.., as the original one was found to be ratherbadly bent and, upon dismantling the steering column, we found that the splines of the rocking shaft had twisted, due to shock, the follower roller, apart from the balls having made slight dents in same, had not suffered, but had withstood the shock.
