London, N.W.2.

For the attention of Mr. Russell.

Dear Sir,

We send you herewith a drawing showing a modification which we have made to the latest type cast aluminium petrol gauge which you recently delivered to us for test. You will note that we have cut away a section of the support arms by removing the radiussed portion in order to keep the weight down. We think the section is quite sufficient to compete with the weight of the float mechanism and we shall be glad if you will arrange to alter your drawing accordingly. This gauge is being fitted to a Bentley car and we hope very shortly to be in a position to inform you that we have standardised the gauge.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
