L&C.2425 - STARTER MOTOR (2.B SCHEME) 9-EX.

We recently issued to you instructions to enable the 2.B. scheme of starter motor to be fitted to 14-EX, but as this chassis was sent away with the 2.A scheme it is now proposed to utilise the 2.B. motor which you have made by fitting it on to 9-EX (E.A.C.1)

This move will necessitate a new armature, commutator, bearing brackets, gear ring and pinion being made and we send herewith the particulars of the motor indicating the new parts that will be required:-

Armature - 1 off complete to LOP.
D.71516 - blueprints - D.71449-Distance Piece.
D.71515 - Pinion.
D.71516 - Armature Assembly.
D.71460 - Shaft.

Bearing Brackets - to L.O.P. D.71517 - the only new parts required
are -
Rotherham Spg.Lid{A. J. Lidsey} Oil Cup-1 off.
D.71468-Bearing Brkt:PE.-1 "
D.71469-Bolt. -3 "
E.19614 - Plug. -1 "
The remaining parts you
will have already made for
14-EX.

Commutator - 1 off to L.O.P. D.71444.

Frame & Field - L.O.P. D.71391. - This section will already
have been made for 14-EX
and should be used complete.

The gear ring for 9-EX which is to replace the one already on is G.76442, blueprint herewith, and this has 5° helical teeth with sharp edges on the engaging corners.

The parts made for 14-EX and not required for 9-EX should be kept together in case we may wish to fit this on to 14-EX at some other date.

This will involve a slight alteration to the undersheet, particulars of which we will let you have.

Will you please put this in hand.
