Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x200 Worl2/T17.12.35. Cost Reduction on the Bentley. Thanks for your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}7/KW13.12.35. I am very pleased to see that there are prospects of introducing the Hardy Spicer Propellor Shaft, which will keep our quality but get some weight and cost out of it, and further, it is very useful to know that the introduction of the Borg & Beck Clutch on the 20/25 should effect very nearly the same reduction in cost as on the Bentley. I note however, that you are carefully watching that we might want a somewhat better external finish, which again I am in entire agreement with. The general desire to reduce costs and weight without affecting quality on our products is a most desirable thing. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} | ||
