Oy2-E-2826 February 8, 1926. Table of Riding Complaints and Probable Causes. Complaint 1. Pitching at speeds above 35 m.p.h. 2. Rear passengers thrown forward off seat backs at high speeds. 3. Occasional violent throwing in rear. Riding otherwise good. 4. Snatchy steering. Bumping in front. 5. Harsh riding in front only. 6. Harsh riding generally. 7. Bonnet rattle in passing over car tracks or "setts". 8. Chunking and dancing of rear axle. 9. Rear rides well when sitting forward but throws when leaning back. Front Suspension Front shock absorbers too weak. Front springs too strong. Front springs over-lubricated. As above. Front springs or shock absorbers weak. (Probably the latter) Shock absorbers too tight. Springs rusty. Rusty springs. Shock absorbers too tight. Hard tires. Front shock absorbers tight. Hard tires. Rear Suspension REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS TOO WEAK (handwritten) Dry or rusty rear springs. Rear springs too strong. Rusty springs. Reduce shock absorber setting. Hard tires. Too weak rear springs.
